A teenage mother and her young child were rescued from an abusive and exploitative environment and supported to rebuild their lives in safety.

What we didSecured safe, permanent housing in the young mother’s name, and provided education, therapy, employment support, medical cover and ongoing guidance.

Protection, and the fight for justice.

Our advocacy runs on two fronts: stepping in directly to protect those at risk, and using our voice to demand that the system does its job.

Protecting Vulnerable Children & Families

Direct protection, support, advocacy and intervention for children, women and families facing abuse, exploitation or unsafe circumstances.

We demand justice for a young mother and her baby. A young mother and her child deserve to be safe, supported and free from harm.

Justice & Accountability Campaign

Using public awareness, digital advocacy and community mobilisation to bring attention to an unresolved child-protection case, and to demand a lawful response.

  • Amplify the voices of survivors and vulnerable families
  • Document and bring public attention to alleged failures in protection and accountability
  • Demand that lawful investigations are conducted
  • Call on relevant authorities to act where there is credible evidence of wrongdoing
  • Mobilise public support for the safety and protection of children
  • Demonstrate that silence cannot be the price of seeking justice

Education & Mentorship

Going home to Kanjora.

Education is one of the most powerful ways to create a lasting legacy. Nyaguthii Legacy is returning home, to Kanjora Comprehensive School, to give back to the community that shaped our story.

This initiative supports children through practical educational assistance, improving their learning environment, and reminding them that where they come from does not have to determine how far they can go.

We believe every child deserves the opportunity to learn in dignity, dream without limitation and have the tools they need to build a different future. This is more than giving supplies. It is giving children a reason to believe in their own possibilities.

From Survival to Safety

A teenage mother and her young child were rescued from an abusive and exploitative environment, after the young mother had endured prolonged abuse and had nowhere safe to turn. The Nyaguthii Legacy Trust intervened to help both mother and child reach safety and begin rebuilding their lives.

Support Provided

  • Safe and permanent housing for the young mother and her child
  • Education for the young mother
  • Therapy and psychosocial support
  • Support in securing employment
  • Medical cover for the child
  • Childcare and nanny support
  • Ongoing guidance and practical support

One of the most important interventions was securing a permanent home in the young mother’s name, giving her and her child long-term housing security and a place they can truly call home.

The work is ongoing. The Nyaguthii Legacy Trust continues to support them and to advocate for justice and accountability regarding the abuse and exploitation they experienced.

Outcome

From an unsafe and unstable environment to safety, housing security, education, employment and a pathway toward independence. Today, they have something they did not have before: safety, stability, opportunity and a home that cannot simply be taken away from them.

Our work is not finished. We continue to pursue justice and accountability for the abuse they experienced.

Because protection isn’t just about getting someone out of danger. It’s about making sure they have somewhere safe to go, and a future worth staying safe for.
